Women’s History Month is a month long celebration of women’s contributions to American history. Women have played a vital role throughout our history, often times our contributions are easily forgotten. So, let’s spend this month educating ourselves and glorifying women historically known as well as women in out everyday lives. In this blog I provided some ways we can support and spend time with women in our everyday lives.
Listen to Podcast

Podcast are a great way to educate yourself on a plethora of different topics you may not ordinarily come across. They provide informal commentary about the world around us. Women make up about half of podcast listeners. According to The Wrap, only 21% of top-charting shows have a female host. Women-hosted podcast can cover much-needed topics that are female specific, but it is important to have female voices on non-gendered topics. Support women offering their voice as a potential contribution to the broader conversations we encounter each day.
Self Defense Class

Take up a woman self defense class. A self defense class will be beneficial when having to defend yourself as a woman.
Fancy Dinner

Reserve a table at a fancy restaurant with some women in your life that you appreciate. Take the time to make time for significant women in your life that you typically do not see regularly. A bonus would be if you are able to eat at a fancy restaurant that is owned by a woman.
Paint in Honor of Female Artist

Renowned artist such as Georgia O’kefee and Frida Kahlo redefined the way we see the world around us. In celebration of female artist, take some time to sit and paint or draw your own masterpiece. Create an image with something in mind or nothing in mind, have fun with it.
Spa Day

As women, we need to take care of ourselves. Self care is very important! Find time this month to have a spa day to replenish and rejuvenate yourself.
Amplify Female Artist

One of the ways to celebrate women’s history is to simply listen. From the historical greats like Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald to the pop sensations Beyoncé and Madonna, women are an essential part of the music industry.
Female artist have shattered stereotypes and have used their platforms to speak out against injustice. this Women’s History Month, celebrate the accomplishments of female artist by choosing a genre, streaming their music and dancing in their honor.
Movie Night (Female Directors)

Movie nights are so fun and easy. Search for movies that are directed by females or have a strong female lead.
Volunteer at a Women’s Shelter

There are several women in need, in many different ways. If you are able to volunteer your time, spend it helping at a women’s shelter. You could also consider donating feminine products and food as well.
Read a Book Written by a Female Author

Consider reading a book by a female author. You can partake in this alone or with others. This is a great way to appreciate female writers’ accomplishments, learn more about them, as well as promote discussion and engagement.
Eat or Shop at a Woman Owned Business

Seek out local women owned businesses in your community. I am sure there are many in your area that you may not even be aware of. By eating and shopping at these businesses you will be empowering those business women and helping to create job and economic opportunities for other females as well.
